GCSE TEXTILES

As many of you might know, I study textiles at GCSE and will be studying it next year for A-Level, I love fashion and I really feel textiles enhances my knowledge of this.

Recently for my final project, I was given the task to create a futuristic garment inspired by an artistic of my choice. I chose to make an evening gown and study the famous M.C Escher. (Not a DJ) Escher is a great monochrome lover whom mixes geometric shapes with bold lines and deep shading. I was also inspired by Elie Saab who designs THE most amazing evening gowns embellished with beautiful beads.

I thought that I would share the final product and the atmospheric photo shoot of which I underwent on the moors in Belmont, Lancashire at sunset. I've also included the original sketches for the dress, the make-up which I used to create this look and the accessories that I opted for. Enjoy.

The original sketches.

The look that I wanted to achieve was a glamorous gothic feel with a strong contour and dark smoky  eye. Here's the make-up that I used.

And finally the shoes.

What would you grade it?

THE PERFECT SUMMER RED

Summer is just around the corner and finding your perfect summer red nail varnish can be quite a challenge, especially with there being so many nail varnish's out there. However please congratulate me as I think I have found 'the one'.

Everyone meet Essie 'Meet Me at Sunset'...

My love for Essie nail varnishes just got a whole load bigger. I love the fat brush which makes it easy to apply and the glossy finish they leave. The polish stays chip free for just under a week, but if you love getting the most out of your nail varnishes then I highly recommend the Essie base coat and top coat. This leaves your nail varnish perfect for two weeks.

The colour is a vibrant orange under-toned red and suits my almond nails that I'm currently sporting. It is the perfect spring summer shade and I will be wearing it a lot this season. Buy it now at Boots for only £7.99!

What's your favourite nail polish?

OSCARS BEST DRESSED

The Oscars. Arguably the most prestigious awards of all time. Actresses and actors from all across the world spend months on what colour their couture should be to make the biggest impression. This year didn't fail to deliver with even more sparkle and elegant garments.

This year the A-Listers ditched the short puffy dresses and opted for more figure hugging sophisticated gowns and rounded it all up with a small clutch and silver jewellery.

Here are my top 10 showstoppers hot from the red carpet...

The leading lady of the night and winner of Best Actress in a leading role, Cate Blanchett wore Giorgio Armani and paired it with Chopard Jewellery. Classy.

A very pregnant (but no doubt fabulous) Kerry Washington dressed in Jason Wu.

Chic and simple. Anne Hathaway in Italian Gucci.

Naomi Watts didn't disappoint us in Calvin Klein along with Bulgari Jewellery.

Angelina Jolie dazzaled as usual in Ellie Saab Haute Couture and Robert Procop jewellery.

The most fashionable actress of the moment and winner of the Best Actress in supporting role, Lupita Nyong'o wore Prada.

She may have taken another tumble but once again Jennifer Lawrence looked flawless in Dior Haute Couture along with Neil Lane jewellery and a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch.

Kate Hudson made a statement in white beaded Atelier Versace.

At Elton Johns viewing party our favourite sisters looked glam. Kim wore a Celia Kritharioti number and jewels by Lorraine Shwartz. LOVE Kourtney's statement suit and Khloe's velvet frock.
Taylor Swift looked very sophisticated in this black floor length gown at the Vanity Fair after party.

Which was your favourite?
