5 WARDROBE INVESTMENTS
Creating the perfect wardrobe is an art form and great attention should be payed. I always say its clever to invest in timeless staples rather than the more frivolous items because they’ll never go out of style. I'm not saying to never buy an item of clothing because it is simply in 'fashion'. But I am a great believer in getting your basics right first, as you need the foundations to build on to. Here are my ideas of the classic items you should invest in..
1. The Structured Jacket - A well fitting option, is also one of the most flattering things you can wear to show off your silhouette. The jacket is not also practical to keep you warm but can be worn to dress up your jeans, top off your pencil skirt, or even contrast a flawy maxi dress. The options are truly endless with this classic.

2. The White Button Down Shirt - For me a classic and very elegant element to your wardrobe, a white button down shirt can be accessorised with a brooch for a sophisticated look or even under a jumper with the collar peaking out. For women with larger chests chose a more oversized shirt to avoid buttons puckering.

3. The Jeans - Every Girl needs a pair of well fitted jeans that make their bum look like a Victoria Secret Model's. And most importantly make them feel A-mazing. Versatility makes for an ideal wardrobe and jeans are the most versatile and timeless item of clothing out there, whether you pair them with six inch heels or a pair of sneakers. Spend a little extra on your jeans and they'll be making an appearance in your daily outfits for years.

4. The Pointed Court Shoes - As Marilyn Monroe once said "Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world." Court Shoes are the perfect investment heel as they are stylish for a date but then smart enough for work, they are a powerful shoe for people to take you serious in. I can guarantee you'll be able to pull them off in most situations. Even more important they are comfortable as theres no point in buying a shoe you wear once because you stubble every time you put them on.

5. The LBD - I've possibly saved the best til last, as a Little Black Dress is eternally stylish and I guarantee that you will wear it year after year dressing it down for a lunch date or up for a night on the town.

WHITE CHOCOLATE AND CRANBERRY COOKIES
A light treat to re-energise you mid morning or as a midnight snack, these cookies are easy and quick to make, perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Heres what you'll need:
100g White Chocolate
125g Soft Butter
125g Light Muscovado Sugar
1 Large Free range Egg
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
150g Plain Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
50g Dried Cranberries.
2 Baking trays lined with non-stick baking parchment.
First you'll want to heat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.
After that mix the butter, sugar and egg in a bowl, either with an electric mixer or with a wooden spoon works just as good. Add in the flour vanilla and baking power and beat until thoroughly combined making, scraping down the bowl once or twice to be sure there are no lumps or chunks or unmixed butter.
Next you will need to chop up your chocolate into chunks or you can use chocolate chips to make it easier. Add the chocolate and cranberries to your mixture mixing well.
Use and ice-cream scoop to take a heap of the mixture and put it onto the prepared tray. Using an ice-cream scoop ensures all the cookies have to same amount of mixture and creates a perfect circle cookie. Repeat with the rest of the mixture, spacing the mounds well apart to allow for spreading.
Bake in the heated oven for about 15 minutes until a light golden brown. Remove the trays from the oven, remember they are cookies therefore they might be a bit wobbly but they will harden. Leave to cool for 5 minutes then carefully transfer onto a wire rack.
Enjoy them nice and warm or allow to cool completely and store in an airtight container. Eat within 4 days (Oh that sounds like such a challenge!) Or freeze for up to a month.

YSL AT THE BOWES MUSEUM
When I couldn't get tickets to the Alexander McQueen exhibition I was devastated so last week when I got the opportunity to go see the Yves Saint Laurent: Style is Eternal Exhibition at the Bowes Museum, I jumped at the opportunity.

The foundation Pierre Bergé - Yves Saint Laurent wanted to pay homage to Yves Saint Laurent (1936-2008) by organising the first exhibition of his work in the United Kingdom.
When the House of Yves Saint Laurent opened in 1961, it was a major event, the couturier, who was 25 years old at the time and had already gained fame as Christian Dior's Successor in 1957, would end up revolutionising the fashion world while working within the great tradition of French haute couture.
Yves Saint Laurent invented the modern womans wardrobe. Borrowing from male codes of dress, he created clothing that gave women confidence, audacity and power while still preserving their femininity. He replaced the tyranny of fashion with an emphasis on style, leaving a woman free to express her true personality through her attire. Instead of dictating trends to be followed, he offered sartorial suggestions that worked with how women lived and moved and which, above all, focused on their active role in society. thus becoming fashion's first 'socially conscious' designer.
While seeking to design for the present, Saint Laurent also paid homage to his favourite artists and used the sumptuous exuberance that haute couture offered to express his simultaneous nostalgia for the past.
Yves Saint Laurent: Style is Eternal Proposes a thematic exploration of more than forty highly creative years during which the couturier built what stands as a fundamental body of work in the history of fashion. It examines five specific themes that create a unique dialogue with The Bowes Museum's collection of historic textiles, beginning with Saint Laurent's at once traditional and revolutionary approach to Haute Couture, followed by his play on Masuclin-Féminin, Transparence, Art, and ending with the lavish display of Spectaculaire.
This exhibition presents the timeless modernity of Yves Saint Laurent's style. As he himself said of his craft, 'What has always come first to me is respect for a métier that is quite not an art, but which needs an artist in order to exist.'

LOUBOUTIN LIPSTICKS DEBUT
Recently we have seen a hype in high end designers such as Marc Jacobs, Givenchy and Gucci releasing make-up lines. Christian Louboutin was no exception to this by creating a collection of nail varnishes in 2014. After the success of these jaw dropping six inch designs Louboutin are now expanding and creating a range of lipsticks.
Retailing at an eye watering £60 (and you thought Tom Ford was expensive) there are three varying levels of intensity, from a Velvet Matte to a more soft Sheer Voile, with a Silky Satin finish. And their won't be chance of you not finding the perfect colour as the collection includes 38 different shades with the red of the iconic sole in all three finishes.
The packaging does also not disappoint, of corse Louboutin could not just stick to a simple bullet, he had to create almost a weapon, yes I'm talking spikes and sharp points. I can't help to think how over the top and unpractical they are…but at the same time I still seam obsessed with the concept.
So will you be picking up one on September 1st?

PROVENCE 2015
Bonjour! A blog post is long over due and with exams over and having had a short break I thought now would be the perfect time to sit down and write one. What better than to share my adventures of recently going to Provence, France. I've never been before and I've always seen fashion bloggers post their Saint Tropez pics and look at them with envy, so when my dad told me it was where we where heading I was ecstatic. I can now understand why people would choice to vacation there as it is so peaceful and beautiful.
On the first day we went to Plage De L'Estagnol which was so cute and very secluded. Boats filled the sea and it was so lovely to see people jumping off and just sailing around in the far distance. We then ate lunch on the beach and I had a delicious Italian Salad which was light and refreshing in the 35 degree heat.
On the tuesday of our holiday we decided to head into the centre of St Tropez, but how better than boat! We got a yacht from Port Grimaud which was built in the same structure as Venice. The Yacht took us to the port of St Tropez where we anchored down next to the biggest boats I had ever come across.
We sat and drank cocktails near the port soaking up the atmosphere and relaxing before deciding to look around the shops. One of the most extravagant shopping destinations in the world it housed the likes of Chanel, Gucci, Fendi and even it's very own Dior Cafe.
Midweek we took a trip to Cannes. A very busy and much bigger port in comparison to St Tropez. Due to the popularity of the famous Cannes Film Festival it is was very commercial and to me not as pretty. Never the less it was extraordinary to see.
When in Cannes a spot of shopping has to be done!
We ate lunch on the beach again at a very sleek restaurant called L'Alba, where you could rent sun beds and spend the whole day baking in the sun. However for me it was a bowl of pesto pasta and a glass of Rose wine.
On our final day we visited a cute town called Cotignac which was very typically french, we strolled in and out of the centre and viewed the markets, I would highly recommend this if you were near by as they do fantastic ice creams.
