HATE
1: Balenciaga, the touching on the top is dreadful, it looks like pinned material more than an actual top, the colour of the top is also horrendous and looks like a gel pen. It even reminds me of something my nan wore in 1990 when brooches were collectables. The leggings are so un flattering and who would to think of mixing that garish purple with burgundy. The shoes which are somehow part of the outfit look like the shoes from the wicked witch of the West and well the model and her beauty choices well she could be the wicked witch of the West.
3: Saint Laurent, I love leather but in winter not summer, it's too impractical and even though it's slightly colder in the uk and wet you will still sweat and this outfit isn't ideal. The puff sleeves seem like they are from my mums wedding dress and the length of the dress could make it mistaken for a top. Everything from the shoes which look like clarks back to school collection to the earrings where it looks like the stylist couldn't decide which ones to pick so she put them all in. I just don't get it, I love Saint Laurent as a brand so why have they got it so wrong.
4: Fenty X Puma Thought that it would be ok to mix khaki green and Baby pink and it is certainly not ok. The outfit has a grunge army feel to it which I really hate in contrast to the bodice. The disgusting sateen that they have chosen to use reminds me of bridesmaid dresses, and I have no idea what those strings are hanging down from her, it looks like she is about to go high wiring. To top is off they have paired the outfit with sliders, I think that big heavy duty boots or some kind of trainers would be more appropriate.
5: Marc Jacobs, is that Amy whine house? No it's a model who looks like she's on crack and wants to wear anything that looks horrendous. Denim and corduroy..ah the days when I was seven and my mum used to dress me in that combination. I don't find the look flattering or sophisticated, yes it will get you noticed but should you just wear clothes to get noticed. The socks with the spots on look like they have acne and the colour combination is sickly, the muted tones do not do any favours for the skin tone of the model or anyone for that matter.
LOVE
1: Kenzo, were one of my favourite shows to watch this year, everything from the makeup to the clothes was bright and exciting and caught my eye, I love the gold dress and gold is something that you usually associate with Christmas and winter fashions however the idea of wearing it in summer under the basking sun is beautiful, the white jacket complements the gold and it looks very minimalistic but still classy and well put together. The one earring adds an unsentimental finish to the outfit which I like, it's unexpected to see a model only wear one earring as some could say it looks like she lost one however wearing different earrings in different ears is a growing trend. I love the shape and silhouette this outfit gives the balance of the skirt being short against the long and baggy coat.
2: Max Mara, this outfit is so so super chic, it is effortless sophistication, the fitted bodice which eventuates the waist contrasts beautifully with the oversized boyfriend blazer and loose fitted pants as part of the jumpsuit, the bodice gives it that sex appeal that makes the model look more feminine as it cups around the breats, the simple colour tone of just black makes it timeless and paired with the silver chunky belt and sports vazer it adds a sports luxe feel to it and modernises this androgynous look.
3: Andrew Gn, this floral dress is very predictable for spring summer as you usually see a lot of pastel flower prints on the catwalk at this time of year however the fact that he has mixed the pastel colours with black and added studs and leather I love, the contrast of heavy fabric of the dress to something like flowers which is usually gentle and delicate is also refreshing and I feel like it's a different approach. The length of the shift dress is beautiful and I LOVE the three quarter sleeves they make the dress so cute and three quarter sleeves haven't been seen for a couple of years now.
4: This Dior outfit has a masculine feel to it and even though the tulle skirt could be seen as a representation of a ballerinas skirt the heavy leather jacket and trainers change the perspective of the outfit, even the sash around the body makes it look like the sash of bullets that army troops carry. The red is very refreshing as it makes a bold statement and the fact that the whole garment is in red gives a clean cut and organised feel to it, I even love the fact that they have included chokers on the models as chokers have been seen around a lot on the high street during 2016.
5: Francesco Scognamiglio, this look has a sports luxe feel to it again, the runner shorts are trimmed with a beautiful lace that makes the outfit look more gentle and feminine, I love the fact that the blouse isn't opaque and you can see the flesh through the top, the pearls again add a lady like feel to the outfit which is controversial as so much skin is revealed through the outfit and being lady like you often have to be more conservative, I love the fact the white socks are made from cotton as this adds another texture and looks more tough and rough in comparison to the gentle chiffon and lace, the socks paired with shoes also elongate the leg. With the outfit being white it adds an element of purity as white is a colour associated with Virgin Mary and something that is untouched.
What were your favourite looks this season?
